Delhi sees highest one-day spike with 1,024 new Covid-19 cases, tally touching 16,281



Delhi High on Covid-19 cases

According to data from the state Health Department, Delhi on Thursday recorded a record increase in 1,024 new Covid-19 cases, the largest single jump so far, to 16,281 from the national capital's total coronavirus virus.

There have been no deaths in Delhi during the last 24 hours and the death toll due to the highly contagious disease is now 316 in the national capital.

As a minimum, 231 coronavirus positive patients have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals on Thursday.


Covid 19 update

So far, a total of 7,495 coronavirus patients have been recovered and sent home.

The previous largest single-day 792 cases were recorded on Wednesday.

This is the first time that more than 1,000 Covid-19 cases have been reported in a single day in the national capital.

On Wednesday, the total number of coronovirus cases in Delhi was 15,257, in which 303 died.

A total of 129 Covid-19 positive patients were admitted to the dedicated Kovid Health Centers in the capital on Thursday.

However, the Delhi Health Department bulletin said that the cumulative death figure of the capital refers to the causes of death where Covid-19 was found to be the primary cause of death, according to a report by the death accounts committee on a case by case basis. Sheets were received from various hospitals.

According to data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India's total Covid-19 count stood at 1,58,333 on Thursday.
